Laura Field, PR Director
“Passionate"
Laura Field, our public relations whiz, has a passion for life and everything it has to offer. When she is not enjoying Chicago’s surprises (free concerts in small parks, architectural boat tours, wandering Millennium Park, ice skating under the “bean”), she loves to hang out with K.C., her west highland terrier.
A senior communications strategist, Laura brings over two decades of experience as a reporter, public relations professional and corporate communications executive to the ClearEdge team. In her role as PR director, Laura assesses, plans and implements strategic public relations programs to generate publicity, awareness and goodwill for ClearEdge clients. She understands how to simplify goals and focus programs on tangible results.
Since 2001, Laura has been President of Home Field Advantage (HFA), where she develops and executes strategic communications plans and business-to-business communications. Prior to HFA, she was Vice President, Corporate Communications, at MarchFirst, an IT consulting firm where she grew the global communications department to 15 professionals that oversaw executive communications, media relations, internal communications, investor relations and Web site communications in the U.S., Europe and Asia/Pac. Laura has also served as Brand Manager and Media Relations Manager at Waste Management, Inc. and was an Account Manager at Starmark, Inc. where she earned a Certified Business Communicator (CBC) designation.
Laura launched her career as a journalist for Plant Services, an industrial trade magazine, following the completion of her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Economics at Indiana University, Bloomington. She is presently completing a Master’s Degree in Spirituality at Loyola University Chicago.
An active member of the Chicago community, Laura is a Girl Scout Leader, Board Member of Chicago Youth Center’s Fellowship House, and a staff volunteer for Old St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in charge of developing and hosting weekend retreats for the community.
Given her busy schedule, we’re not sure where Laura finds the time and energy to enjoy her hobbies including reading, writing, spontaneous picnics, traveling, volunteering, cooking, gardening and hiking, but she does! Perhaps it’s that ability — to do it all, and do it all so well — that makes Laura so valuable to us and our clients.
