Leslie Vickrey, a Chicagoan with a keen entrepreneurial spirit, is focused on creating opportunities, making connections and raising awareness for the next generation of great companies and leaders both in Chicago and nationwide. As CEO of ClearEdge Marketing, an agency specializing in outsourced marketing solutions for high growth technology and talent management companies, she manages a team of more than 30 marketing professionals. Since founding ClearEdge nearly 10 years ago, Leslie and the ClearEdge team have consulted with a range of companies, including Harvey Nash, ShopperTrak, bswift, Fieldglass, Bartech, Corptax, Aon Hewitt, SPR, ICon and TechServe Alliance.

Leslie’s passion for creating meaningful connections extends beyond ClearEdge. In 2013, she co-founded ARA, an organization that aims to attract, retain and advance women in technology through mentoring. ARA is now active in Chicago, Seattle, New York City, Houston and Silicon Valley and has reached over 2,000 women thus far. She is also a founding partner of the Chicago Executive Women’s Networking Group, which cultivates and nurtures relationships among senior-level women in IT leadership roles through quarterly dinner events. Beyond these initiatives, Leslie is actively involved in local tech organizations, serving on the Board of Directors as Vice Chair of the Marketing Committee for i.c.stars  and on the Board of Advisors for the Chicago Innovation Awards, where she co-chaired their 2015 UnGala. Leslie was named to the prestigious Techweek 100 list, recognizing her significant impact on technology and innovation in Chicago, and The Blue Sky Vault, Blue Network, featuring 100 of Chicago’s most compelling innovators and entrepreneurs and was recently inducted into the UIC Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame. Leslie has also been named as one of the 2016 Enterprising Women of the Year, which recognizes the world’s top women entrepreneurs and was also part of Chicago’s 50 on Fire, which celebrates visionary individuals and companies across Chicago’s top industries.

As a strong believer in the power of knowledge sharing, Leslie is often called on to speak and moderate industry and local tech events, including sessions at Crain’s Chicago Small Business Week, Chicago Innovation Awards/Society of Information Management, Ms.Tech/Belly’s #Codefident series, Staffing Industry Analysts’ Executive Forum and TechServe Alliance’s Annual Conference. Leslie’s personal passions for education and animals are also evident through her philanthropic efforts, having formerly served on the board of directors for Union Park High School and currently supporting Cause for Paws.

Career History 

After a short stint post college graduation in Colorado pursuing a career as a ski bum, Leslie began her professional career in marketing for well-known companies such as McDonald’s Corporation and Junior Achievement. However, one taste of working for a technology company and Leslie quickly found her niche.

Leslie spent her first several years in the IT industry working for Spherion Technology, where she directed award-winning marketing and communications initiatives for their worldwide operations, at the time a billion dollar division.

In 2004, Leslie co-founded Visient Partners, a marketing and design agency, where she served as Managing Partner. Prior to Visient, Leslie served as Director of Marketing for RiverPoint (formerly DHS & Associates) where she was responsible for enhancing their service-line development process and initiating a sales performance improvement program.

Leslie received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations from Central Michigan University.
